Golf Society

The golf events for Dore Club fall into two separate competitions.

The "Smithie Trophy"

This competition is open to all members of Dore Club and is an 18 hole stableford competition played annually.

The competition is normally held at Abbeydale Golf Club in September.

Dore Club Golf Society 

Membership is £300 per year, paid by a monthly standing order of £25 or a one off payment of £300 or 3 payments of £100 direct to the Golf Society bank account.

Members are always welcome on a "pay as you play" basis.

Golf matches are played at various courses playing 18 holes of Stableford off full handicaps, max handicap being 36.

The winner of each event will have their handicap reduced by 1 shot for the remainder of the year's events.

Players with no official handicap will have their handicap determined by the Golf Handicap Committee (Tim Goss, Andrew Brooks & Peter Bellamy). We welcome players of any ability.

The winner of the overall competition is worked out using the average of their best 4 scores over the course of the year's matches.
